Characteristics of house types : 

detached house - garden , driveway, big, suburbs , popular with families , expensive 

semi-detached house -two houses together, garden, popular with families, suburbs

terraced house - small, very small garden, in a long row , city centre

flat - on top of each other in tall blocks, popular with young people, city centre

bungalow - small house, garden, one floor, suburbs or small towns.

cottage - big garden, small houses, pretty, countryside

I live in a block of flats as many other people. My block has got four floors unlike the blocks of England which are very tall. My block is in the suburbs of the town in contrast to those in England. It is a medium-sized home and I like it.

I live in a semi-detached house in the suburbs of the town as a cottage in England. My house has got a big garden unlike the terraced houses in England and a lot of rooms in contrast to bungalows in England. It is a spacious home and I like it.
